Hartland Athletics proudly honors Reese Messenger of the Hartland Girls Track & Field team as this week’s ChoiceOne Athlete of the Week. The freshman sprinter delivered a breakout performance at the KLAA Championships, helping lead the Eagles to their highest team finish in 14 years with a runner-up placement overall. Messenger captured the KLAA Championship in the 100 meters with a time of 12.71, battling through a strong 3.0 headwind to secure the victory. She followed that performance with a third-place finish in the 200 meters, running a personal-best 26.30. In addition to her individual success, Reese also contributed on the 4x400 relay team, helping the Eagles secure critical points in the team standings.
